Coastal Carolina University Invites Students to Join Honors Program


A student at Coastal Carolina University (CCU) in Conway, South Carolina, Christopher Joseph Panciocco is studying marketing. While there, Christopher Joseph Panciocco has been a part of the honors program, which includes students who excel academically.

The CCU’s Honors Program helps students achieve a challenging and personalized education at the university. Those enrolled in the program receive a university laptop, which they have access to for all four years of their studies. They also receive priority registration for classes and access to honors housing. In addition, they have an opportunity to study in Washington, D.C., for one semester and to study abroad. 

Each fall the university enrolls about 100 first-year students in the program, and students may only join by invitation. In total, the program consists of more than 300 students. To be included in this program, students must meet a number of requirements:

* Have a cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher, an ACT of 26, or a combined math and verbal SAT of 1270 if taken after 2016

* Earn a cumulative GPA of 3.25 up to 30 credits, 3.33 GPA up to 60 credits, and 3.5 GPA until graduation 

* Take at least one honors course per semester
